Lunch is a good time to commit a crime in Truckee. It seams that all the cops are out to lunch. Three of Truckee's finest in the Safeway parking lot, but not in Safeway. Two county sherrifs at the Donner Kitchen. I guess there is no crime at 12:30.

I was at Great basin tonight and I met some neighbors. They seem like realy nice folks. They are the kind of people, that make you think, my world will be better if they are in my life.
Well, I mentioned that I was an ordained minester at beerchurch.com and at Uninted Life Church among othr places.
I am not sure if both of them want to get married. It has made me think about what Lord Chesterfield said in 1765 about religion and matrimony. Lord Chesterfield said "in matters of religion and matrimony, I will have nobodies torment, blamed on me in this life or the next."
I am not sure either, but would love to have them over for dinner.

The best way to start is to say white men are the good old boy network but it is more. It is all those in power(corporate America, politicians, police, religious,) and the insignificant cogs that run these institutions. Most Americans are white men. White men believe in conventional wisdom. They think inside the box. They are afraid of what the neighbors think. They like the status quo. Howard Dean scarred them and he is a white man. The worst white men are not white or male, they try extra hard to be white men. it is not pretty to watch.

Yesterday U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown called Bush poilcy towards Haiti "racist" and his representatives "a bunch ofwhite men."
Roger Noriega said he would 'relay that to Colin Powel and Condoleezza Rice."
I like how the paper tells us that Powel and Rice are black. In my opinion that does not mean they are not white men. First, I must say that I am white and male but do not consider myself to be white man. You do not need to be white or male to be a white man. It is a way of acting. It is hard to explain, especialy to a white man but I shall try.

In the news : Ithaca Beer Co has a new double IPA. I like what I saw at there web site. Five dollar growlers, plus they have a special on nut brown, only 2.50 great deal. Ihave to wonder how good the nut brown is? It has fuggles hops, not my favorite. Too sweet. Ithaca beer co has a nice web site check it out.

It is snowing now!

It is going to snow soon. Well, it has been snowing for about twelve hours. It only snowed about eight inches. Hopefully tomorrow it wiil snow two to three feet. I love to snowshoe in the fresh powder, sometimes it feels like you were the first person to ever walk there.

Also in the news I saw this. The title was a little off the top and a beer on the side. I might get my hair cut more often if beer is an option. It turns out it was one of those day spas. I am not to sure I want to go there. I recently bought a gift certifacate for a friend to get a pedicure. The place was toxic. The fumes in there gave me a buzz after about five minutes. Not a pleasant buzz either.

I had computer problems yesterday. The screen froze, then it took seven hours to reboot. That is ridiculous. In the news...train drivers in Australia are thinking about going on strike because the government is trying to take away thier beer and barbie life style.

Raceday! I like NASCAR I do, I do. Like football it comes on too early on sunday. A one o'clock start on the east coast is ten am here in the Sierra Nevada. On the bright side Monday night football starts at six pm. So like they say at Sam Adams,"you cant drink all day if you don't start in the morning. Fred over at the slactivist has some cooents about NASCAR. I am not sure how I really feel about it. go read for yourself.

I just spent a perfectly good hour at the beeradvocate.com maybe more check it out.

Now I don't usually like or agree with peta but I ran into this article and I agree. Beer is a much better drink than milk. Remeber beer has food value but food has no beer value! As my brother says why should we eat baby cow food?

Great Basin review: I like the place good beer good people! My favorite beer the Ichthosaur IPA was good as usual. Its not yucky its ichy! The Jackpot Porter is usualy good. The oatmeal stout was too sweet. It did not have an oatmeal flavor. The food is pretty good. The fish and chips are worth ordering. They come with a cucumber salad that reminds me of my grandmothers mmm. Also you can get garlic fries, a nice touch.

It seems to take a while for the changes to happen. Last night the posts took about two hours to come up. I got the Atrios link to work and I changed the Great Basin link hopefully that will work soon.

I can not figure out how to make the links work ARGHHHH!

Update you are supposed to stick the beer in the freezer. It still does not work.

Go figure, you cant believe everthing you here in a bar. But it is true while you are still in the bar. I was at Great Basin and was told if you run a bottle of beer under the faucet it will be cold in six(6) minutes. It is not true.

OK, I went to town to get beer. (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) Why is it so damn expensive in Truckee? Longs 14.99 per 12, Albertsons 12.99 per 12, Safeway 14.49 per 12, Rite Aid 10.99 per 12, Rite aid was a sale price. I can buy a case at Costco for 19.49, but I have to drive to Reno about 30 miles. It sure is pretty here in the Sierra Nevada.

This may be beyond my abilities. I looked at the change links page and the words must have other meanings that I dont know.

I have to go get some beer to properly christen my blog.
