Iowa Voters
Yesterday, I asked if only four percent of Iowa voters went to the caucuses. Today Tapped says in 2004 it was just 5.7% of voters. That would mean just 37,395 Iowa voters get to decide who gets to be president, given that the boost to the winner is so large. This study says Iowa and New Hampshire have up to 20 times the influence of latter states. It just does not seem fair. It would take a small amount of determined people spread across Iowa to game the system.
